Substrates

Can I apply Aeroglaze Z306 to glass?

Yes, but only if an approved adhesion promoter is applied to the glass. Please contact tech support at techsupport-na@socomore.com for more details.

Can you apply Aeroglaze/Chemglaze coatings over urethane foam?

Yes, but only V or M line coatings. These are more elastic and will not crack or flake upon flexion of the part. Please test for adhesion before application.

Can you put Aeroglaze/Chemglaze coatings over plastics?

Yes, but not all plastics. Thermosets may require an adhesion promoter, primer, or mechanical abrasion to allow adherence of the coating. Thermoplastics generally do not but should be tested for compatibility before coating. Please test for adhesion before application.

How do I apply Aeroglaze/Chemglaze to bare (untreated) substrates such as aluminum, steel and titanium?

Bare metals require the use of a wash primer or mechanical abrasion to ensure proper adhesion of the primer system. Please contact tech support at techsupport-na@socomore.com for more details.

Can I use wash primer on chemically treated surfaces such as Alodine, Anodize or any other surface treatment?

No, unless the surface treatment is removed. Chemically treated surfaces require the use of an epoxy primer.

How do I apply Aeroglaze/Chemglaze to special substrates like carbon composite, tantalum, stainless steel, nickel, invar, glass, silicone rubber, plastic, etc.

As the surface preparation solutions for each substrate vary greatly, please contact tech support at techsupport-na@socomore.com for more details.
